C E Chapman & Co Lawyers was established in Sydney CBD in the early 1930s, having been established by Clarence Ernest Chapman. Throughout its long history spanning nearly 90 years, the firm has retained the name of its original proprietor – C E Chapman.

Denis Hinds PRINCIPAL
Denis is the principal of the firm.
Denis has extensive experience in most areas of the law including litigation, property, estate matters, conveyancing, and family law. His main expertise is in commercial and business law, including commercial leasing matters.
With his extensive experience, Denis has been able to provide assistance and advice over the broad spectrum of legal issues encountered by his commercial clients in the conduct of their businesses.
As a dedicated practitioner of many years standing, Denis has been pleased to act for consecutive generations of his many long standing clients. In his spare time, Denis is a cricket umpire and enjoys supporting young sportspeople at the Randwick Petersham Cricket Club.
Paula Homersham Senior LAWYER/Associate
Paula initially joined the firm immediately after her admission as a lawyer and was involved in litigation, family law, estates and property matters. Subsequently she spent a period of years with one of Sydney’s large legal firms where she worked exclusively in family law.
Paula has also worked for one of the largest cost consultancy firms as a senior costs assessor. Paula has extensive experience in the costs assessment procedures of the Supreme Court of NSW and has acted as a Court appointed costs expert in the District Court of NSW and as an expert witness in the Supreme Court of NSW. Paula now focuses on litigation, family law and deceased estate matters. She is also responsible for finalising issues relating to costs orders in litigation matters where her expertise ensures that clients obtain the maximum benefit from costs orders made in their favour.
Frances initially joined the firm as a junior receptionist/legal secretary. Frances quickly advanced to the role of paralegal, mainly working in the area of conveyancing. Frances is now also our office manager and is in charge of accounts administration. Frances has devoted a considerable amount of her time to staff training and development.
